A crew from Rohde Brothers Excavating, Inc. of Buena Vista Township demolishes an abandoned house, 2414 S. Washington, behind Jessie Rouse Elementary, 435 Randolph in Saginaw.
While going out to survey their neighborhood, students at Jessie Rouse discovered dozens of abandoned and burned-out houses within a six block radius of their school. They wrote a letter to Saginaw Mayor Carol Cottrell looking for help. With the help of a grant, the city hired Rohde Brothers Excavating, Inc. of Buena Vista Township to tear down three houses near the school.
